SAYF AL-HADI

4th Dan

My karate journey started in 1990, inspired by my childhood fascination with martial arts movies. I joined the KASKAI association run by Sensei Robin Reid, which was affiliated to the SKIGB / SKKIF, so I also had the privilege of training under Soke Kanazawa, Hanshi Asano, and Sensei Murakami on numerous occasions.

Many years later, due to moving location for university, I joined the JKA under Sensei Ohta for the next chapter of my journey. It was during these years that I really started to relish expanding my karate knowledge through attending as many courses as possible across the UK and training with visiting Japanese instructors from the JKA and other Shotokan associations.

In 2019, I joined the WSKF and Sensei Tomiko Mitsuoka’s dojo, where I have been training since under her exceptional guidance. My motto for training is to regularly challenge yourself both physically and mentally, whilst also not forgetting to occasionally have some fun.
